Malcom In the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair S1

10 April 2026 – Disney+

Barely a month ago, we had the new season of Scrubs hitting Disney+ to much joy, and now the second revival of a classic sitcom is here as well. Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair will see Frankie Muniz reprise his role as the third child in the wildly (and hilariously) dysfunctional Wilkerson family (yes, that’s actually the family’s last name) in what was originally pitched as a special 2-hour movie event but will now be four 30-minute episodes instead. Set 20 years after the events of the classic sitcom, a grown-up Malcolm is now living peacefully with his teenage daughter Leah and girlfriend Tristran. The secret to his happiness? He’s been intentionally staying far away from his parents, Hal and Lois (Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek), and his three brothers, Francis (Christopher Masterson), Reese (Justin Berfield), and Dewey (Caleb Ellsworth-Clark). However, that’s about to change as still-deeply-in-love Hal and Lois’s 40th wedding anniversary is coming up, and they want all their sons, with their extended families, to join them for the celebration. It’s time for Malcom’s family to meet Malcom’s family and it will probably be chaos!

Margo’s Got Money Troubles S1

15 April 2026 – AppleTV+

Created by prolific TV producer David E. Kelley and adapted from Rufi Thorpe’s 2024 novel of the same name, Margo’s Got Money Trouble is a new comedy-drama series starring Elle Fanning as the eponymous Margo. As the daughter of a former pro wrestler (Nick Offerman) and a former Hooters waitress (Michelle Pfeifer), Margo has never lived a life of luxury. She’s clearly academically gifted though, which is why her college professor took notice of her. However, that notice turned into an affair which turned into an unplanned pregnancy, leaving Margo in a desperate situation needing money to raise her kid. Modern problems require modern solutions though, and Margo finds it in OnlyFans. As her popularity on the site booms, it comes with all sorts of bittersweet complications in her personal life. Nicole Kidman, Greg Kinnear, Marcia Gay Harden, and Michael Angarano co-star.

Beef S2

16 April 2026 – Netflix

With eight Primetime Emmy Awards and three Golden Globes, the second season of massively acclaimed anthology drama/thriller series Beef is one of the most highly anticipated TV shows of the year. A new season brings a new story from creator Lee Sung Jin and a brand new cast about to experience their own proverbial beef. This time around, we have the likes of Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton, Cailee Spaeny, and Youn Yuh-jung headlining the drama which is kicked off when young couple and fellow lowly country club employees Austin (Melton) and his fiancée Ashley (Spaeny) witness a shocking fight on the verge of turning bloody between their boss Joshua (Isaac) and his wife Lindsay (Mulligan). As Joshua and Lindsay are desperate to keep up the veneer of their perfect domestic lives, it triggers a back-and-forth contest of coercion and gambles between the couples, all while vying for the favour of the elite country club’s new owner, Korean billionaire Chairwoman Park (Youn).

MOVIES

Outcome

10 April 2026 – AppleTV+

It is widely accepted that Keanu Reeves may just arguably be the nicest person to ever come out of Hollywood, which is what makes new black comedy Outcome so intriguing. Co-written, directed by, and co-starring Jonah Hill (a very different looking Jonah Hill, I may add), Outcome sees Reeves plays Reef Hawk, a damaged Hollywood star with a wild party boy past who has been sober for the last half a decade as he tries to clean up his act. When his crisis lawyer Ira Slitz (Hill) receives word though that somebody is blackmailing Reef with a video of questionable content, it forces the actor to take stock of his life. Setting out with Ira, Reef goes on a mission to make amends to those he had wronged in the past, hoping that one of them is the blackmailer.

Rental Family

10 April 2026 – Disney+

Few Hollywood comeback stories has been as satisfying to watch as that of Brenda Fraser, with the beloved actor just giving us one great film after another since his return to the limelight. And, by all accounts, Rental Family is another fantastic notch on his proverbial belt. Just make sure to keep the tissues handy for this one. Fraser stars as Phillip Vanderploeg, a struggling American actor desperate for the big break he thought he was on the way when achieved commercial success in a viral toothpaste commercial nearly a decade before. Forced to take any minor role he can to make ends meet, Phillip receives an unexpected offer from Rental Family, a company in Japan (where his toothpaste commercial made a big splash) that provides actors to play stand-in family members and friends for those who need some kind of emotional connection denied to them otherwise. And as it turns out, the company needs “a token white guy” to stand in as the deceased husband and daughter of a young family still grappling with their grief. Initially put off by the absurdity of the offer, Phillip soon embraces it, and finds himself becoming deeply involved in their lives, in the process unlocking something within himself.

Thrash

10 April 2026 – Netflix

Let’s not pretend here. If you’ve watched the trailer above, there’s a good chance that you think that Thrash is just a rehash of Crawl, filmmaker Alexandre Aja’s hugely entertaining 2019 horror-thriller. That film followed the events after a Category 5 hurricane led to a town being flooded, allowing the local alligators easy access to the poor survivors stuck in their houses. And Thrash is almost exactly the same plot… but with sharks. To be fair though, we don’t need the most inventive writing to have fun with schlocky thrills, and director Tommy Wirkola has proven in the past, with the likes of Dead Snow, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, and Violent Night, that he can deliver in that regard. Phoebe Dynevor, Djimon Hounsou, and Whitney Peak star.

Balls Up

16 April 2026 – Prime Video

The FIFA World Cup is just around the corner, but thanks to *wildly gesticulates towards all the chaos in the USA* all of that, fans are not as hyped as they should be for the world’s largest sporting event. Know what may have helped to get everybody in the festive spirit? A condom that covers both the penis and testicles. That’s basically the absurd plot of new R-rated raunchy comedy Balls Up, which follows marketing executives Brad (Mark Wahlberg) and Elijah (Paul Walter Hauser) and try and land the deal of a lifetime with their “full‑coverage condom” sponsorship of a fictional version of the World Cup in Brazil. When their drunken antics during the final match of the tournament draws the ire of the entire the football-obsessed South American country, Brad and Elijah suddenly find themselves in a whole lot of trouble with local fans, militia, drug dealers, alligators, and more! Daniela Melchior, Benjamin Bratt, and Sacha Baron-Cohen co-star.
