Three movies debut in South African cinemas this week, and, in an unusual turn of events for this time of year, all skew to grown-up audiences. Apart for the new trio, espionage actioner Alpha and epic fantasy Nagabandham – The Secret Treasure are also heating up the big screen for Bollywood fans.

In this local comedy drama, ambitious psychologist Khethiwe (Didintle Khunou) applies for the revered “Sis Dolly” Agony-Aunt job at Drum Magazine as a last resort to save her counselling practice. Shortlisted, she must compete during the three-month probation period with two equally ambitious younger candidates, and contend with enigmatic Editor-in-Chief Melody ‘MM’ Makaringe (S’Thandiwe Kgoroge), all while dispensing relevant advice to the nation.
