Comic Con Africa 2026 is just over three weeks away (sorry, crunching cosplayers!), and is taking place 24 – 27 September at its now entrenched home of the JHB Expo Centre.
This year you can expect international guests like God of War and Stargate star Christopher Judge; The Rookie’s Richard T. Jones; the vocal performers behind Rick & Morty (Spencer Grammer, Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden); and the iconic voice of The X-Men’s Storm, herself, Alison Sealy-Smith. And we’re not even talking about other celebs in attendance, like the local actors responsible for One Piece’s fan-favourite pirates and Baroque Works operatives; two global cosplayers; and the array of comic creators heading your way. You can see the full CCA 2026 guest line-up here.

There’s also been a shakeup in terms of brands taking part in the pop culture celebration this year, with Capitec the new headline sponsor, and Burger King promising something exciting that has yet to be revealed. Disney+ is bringing daily quizzes to the Main Stage as they did at Comic Con Cape Town, and you can expect all manner of activations and drop-in competitions from the likes of Fanta, Toyota, Playboy, Kellogg’s and more.
Day passes for grabs!
But maybe you’re on the fence about going to Comic Con this year. Maybe you just can’t afford it. That’s where we come in.
The team behind CCA has given us three sets of double tickets (day passes) to attend the show on Friday, 25 September. That’s the second day of the event, after it kicks off on the Thursday’s Heritage Day holiday.
While the smart people among us will likely have taken the Friday off, CCA veterans know that con days that fall on a workday tend to be quieter, especially in the morning. That makes browsing Artists Alley and retailer stalls a much more enjoyable experience. Also, all the major guests are in attendance on Friday, so you can act on those autograph and/or photo ambitions, plus maybe catch them on the main stage.

How to enter:
Reply to the giveaway post on any of our social accounts: Facebook, Instagram, X, Threads and Bluesky, telling us your favourite fandom from across the pop culture spectrum. E.g. the MCU, Star Wars, Rick & Morty, Assassin’s Creed etc. For bonus entries into the lucky draw, make sure you complete any other listed requirements in the post.
Entries close at midnight on Sunday, 6 September 2026. The three double-ticket winners will be announced the following day.
Terms and conditions:
Maximum five entries per person, excluding bonus entries. Entries close on Sunday, 6 September 2026 at midnight, with all entries going into a single pool. The three winners will be chosen by random draw, and then announced on Monday, 7 September 2026. Winners will be notified via the social account used for entry.
