Time to take a breath. After week after week of blockbuster releases, like Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and The Flash, this Friday there are just a couple of new movies hitting South African cinemas. One is a comedy for adults only, and the other is an animated adventure for the whole family.

Raunchy, R-rated comedy No Hard Feelings sees star Jennifer Lawrence explore her funny side. Here, she plays a woman on the brink of losing her family home. So she accepts an unusual job: she’s hired by wealthy helicopter parents (Laura Benanti, Matthew Broderick) looking for someone to bring their introverted 19-year-old son (Andrew Feldman) out of his shell during the summer before he starts college. From director Gene Stupnitsky (Good Boys) and the co-writer of Bad Teacher.

If you, and the kids in your life, love movies like Zootopia, The Bad Guys, and Cars, you may want to check out Rally Road Racers. In this animated comedy adventure, Zhi, a rookie driver, gets the opportunity to compete against the reigning champion of the rally car circuit. With help from a former driver-turned-mechanic, Zhi must overcome treacherous terrain, rival racers, and unexpected obstacles as he proves himself during the four-day Silk Road Rally. With the voices of Jimmy O. Yang, Chloe Bennet, J.K. Simmons, Sharon Horgan and John Cleese.
