It’s another quiet week at the South African box office, with just two notable film debuts in wider release. Alternatively, you can catch Bollywood horror comedy Bhooth Bangla, Eastern European comedy Svadba, or a BTS World Tour concert performance out of Tokyo, Japan.

Make mummies scary again! Evil Dead Rise filmmaker Lee Cronin lends his name, as well as writing and directing duties, to this new horror film. In Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, the daughter of an American family in Cairo goes missing. Eight years later, she’s found catatonic in a centuries’ old sarcophagus. Rather unsurprisingly, what should be a happy reunion swiftly turns into a nightmare. Lee Cronin’s The Mummy is only showing at Ster Kinekor cinemas.
