To be perfectly honest, some months on Disney+ are more lightweight than others in terms of new attractions. September is definitely not one of those “light” months, as the streamer has an absolutely packed schedule. And before we jump in, we need to mention two bonuses: from 1 September, subscribers can watch all 6 seasons of Downton Abbey, and Futurama S13 drops in its entirety from 16 September.

Lilo & Stitch (Film)

People have strong feelings about live-action adaptations of animated Disney films. The good news is that this year’s Lilo & Stitch is one of the goodies, largely thanks to story tweaks that freshen things up, and the advantage of being set in our relatable world. If you need a plot refresher, destructive alien creation Stitch crash lands on a Hawaiian island, where he crosses paths with a two-sister family in crisis.

Stream Lilo & Stitch from 3 September.

Only Murders in the Building (Series)

Fan-favourite murder mystery series Only Murders in the Building is back this month with its fifth star-packed season (look out for Meryl Streep, Nathan Lane, Téa Leoni, Christoph Waltz, Renée Zellweger, Keegan-Michael Key and more). This time, Charles, Oliver, and Mabel investigate the death of their doorman, leading them to billionaires, mobsters, and other mysterious residents of the Arconia.

Ten-episode Season 5 of Only Murders in the Building launches on 9 September with three episodes.

Breslau (Series)

Breslau, also known as The Breslau Murders, makes history as the first-ever Disney Original out of Poland. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s a period crime drama. In 1936, on the eve of the Olympic Games, a brutal murder takes place in Breslau (the German name for the Polish city of Wrocław). Police commissioner Franz Podolsky is under pressure from image-conscious Third Reich authorities to solve the case quickly.

All eight episodes of Breslau are streaming from 12 September.

Swiped (Film)

Joining the ranks of movies like The Social Network and BlackBerry is tech-themed biopic Swiped. Lily James plays Whitney Wolfe Herd, the real-life co-founder of game-changing dating app Tinder and, after an acrimonious parting with the Tinder executives, woman-friendly rival Bumble. Defying expectation, Herd became the world’s youngest female billionaire. Dan Stevens is another familiar face in the cast.

Swiped is streaming on Disney+ from 19 September.

Sneaker Wars: Adidas V. Puma (Documentary Series)

Here’s one for the sneakerheads, and documentary lovers. Sneaker Wars: Adidas V. Puma delves with unprecedented access into the decades-long rivalry between the two global sportswear giants that has its roots in a family feud between brothers Adi and Rudi Dassler. Their conflict led to innovations in shoe technology and fashion. Appearing in the three episodes are the likes of David Beckham and Usain Bolt.

All three episodes are available from 24 September.

Marvel Zombies (Animated Series)

Using as its springboard a Season 2 episode of What If…?, plus the comic arc, Marvel Zombies is set in a corner of the Multiverse where superheroes and villains have turned into zombies, forcing a band of survivors to fight back. Made by the same animation studio as What If…?, with that show’s lead director in charge, Marvel Zombies sees many MCU stars returning to voice the characters they’ve played previously.

Watch all 4 episodes from 24 September.

Chad Powers (Series)

Combining sports and comedy is Chad Powers, which stars Glen Powell (who also co-created the series) as the title character. A cocky football player nukes his career with a devastating on-field mistake. Years later, he resolves to resurrect his career by disguising himself under makeup prosthetics and joining the struggling South Georgia Catfish.

The six-part Chad Powers starts streaming from 30 September with a two-episode debut.
