Better late than never! Here are the series, documentaries, once-off specials and movies worth catching on Disney+ in March. And we’re not even talking about returning favourites like The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives S4 (arriving 12 March), High Potential S2 Part 3 (4 March), Solar Opposites S6 (11 March), and ongoing shows like The Beauty (Season 1 caps this month), and Paradise S2.

Zootropolis/Zootopia 2 (Film)
We didn’t think Zootropolis 2 (AKA Zootopia 2) was as good as the original. However, this buddy cop caper, with animals, swiftly became the highest grossing animated film of all time. And now it’s on Disney+ for home viewing. After cracking the biggest case in Zootopia’s history, rookie police offers Judy Hopps (voice of Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) find themselves embroiled in a new conspiracy when a venomous snake (Ke Huy Quan) surfaces in the mammal metropolis.

The Testaments (Series)
Dystopian coming-of-age drama The Testaments returns viewers to the world of The Handmaid’s Tale. Based on Margaret Atwood’s award-winning 2019 novel, the series is set decades after the events of the original Handmaid’s book and series, and zooms in on Aunt Lydia’s preparatory school for future Gilead wives. In this environment, dutiful Agnes (Chase Infiniti) and truth-seeking Daisy (Lucy Halliday) start to question the status quo and explore their own identities.

National Geographic’s Ghost Elephants (Documentary Film)
Here’s a nature documentary with some serious pedigree. Legendary filmmaker Werner Herzog directs massively acclaimed Ghost Elephants for National Geographic. The 98-minute feature doccie follows Steve Boyes, a South African naturalist, in his decade-long search for what he believes to be an undiscovered species of African elephant on the highland forests of Angola.

Daredevil: Born Again S2 (Series)
On the returning series front, the highlight of the month is definitely the eight-episode second season of MCU Television Original Daredevil: Born Again – which continues the story started in the original Netflix Daredevil. With Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) entrenched as despotic mayor of New York City, blind lawyer Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), who costumes up as Hell’s Kitchen vigilante Daredevil, turns to former Defender ally, private investigator Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), to help destroy the Kingpin’s corrupt empire.
Episodes of Daredevil: Born Again drop weekly from 25 March.
Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice (Film)
Likely trying to repeat the success of Everything Everywhere All At Once is new action comedy Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice, which throws in a sci-fi angle thanks to the introduction of a time machine. Vince Vaughn, James Marsden and Eiza González star in this tale of gangsters trying to survive the most dangerous night of their lives – with insight from a second version of Nick (Vaughn), who has arrived from the future.

Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special (Television Special)
Here’s one for the Noughties kids. Filmed in front of a live studio audience, and hosted by Alex Cooper, Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special features an exclusive, in-depth interview with Miley Cyrus, paired with never-before-seen archival footage. The special will delve into the Disney Channel sitcom (which ran from March 2006 to January 2011), and how this tale of a teenage girl living a double life as pop star, became a cultural phenomenon that defined a generation.
Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special premieres on 24 March on Disney+.
